HIGHSCHOOL GOLF REPORT
DATE: Friday 16th September
LOCATION: Rathfarnham Golf Club
Once again a fantastic day was had in Rathfarnham Golf club for our annual Golf tournament. We had 47 Golfers who enjoyed the Golf, the banter and the crack.
The course looked splendid and it was a pleasure to be out of the office on a sunny Friday afternoon.
Following the Golf there was time for a pint and a chat before we all sat down for a meal. The meal was supplied by Brian Swords the Golf Club caterer and was a super spread as always. There was plenty of food on offer and was served buffet style.
There followed a speech that highlighted the work of the PPU with a calendar of events by the current HSD Past Pupils President John Gillis followed by some words from the School Principle Andrew Forest.
There then followed the Prize distribution which was carried out by John Gillis and Dorothy Rolston.
The Prizes were sponsored generously by Andrew Miller from “Folens”
The Old Boys trophy was won by Leslie McCormack with 37 points
In 2nd place was Alan Hood (R.G.C Captain) with 36 Points
In 3rd Place was Malcolm Taylor with 35 Points
The Ladies Trophy was won by Kara Browning with 36 Points
In 2nd Place was Margaret Worrell with 35 Points
In 3rd Place was Arlene Brislane with 32 Points
The Bunbury Cup which goes to the best over 18 handicapper was won by Andrew McCracken for the second time with 34 Points
The Prize for nearest the Pin went to Terry Forsyth with a distance of 8 feet
The best Visitor was Nigel Meredith (St Andrews Boy) with 32 Points
